Laifa members are entitled to free legal advice and representation from Laifa Legal Services. Family members can also benefit from Laifa Legal Services.
From personal injury claims to employment law matters, the union’s legal services are provided by a panel of expert solicitors who have years of experience acting on behalf of trade union members.
As a Laifa member you are protected around the clock. If you’ve had an accident or injury at or away from work, on holiday or on the roads, our solicitors can help you to make a claim for compensation.
Our employment law specialists will also provide advice and representation for any work-based issues that you may face.

What’s more, you’re guaranteed to keep 100% of your compensation through Laifa Legal Services. High street firms and the claims companies you see advertised on TV can take up to 25% of your damages, but your Laifa membership means you will always keep 100% of your compensation.
Conditions of eligibility for Laifa Legal Services:
- Members are entitled to legal assistance in accordance with Rule 4.6 of the union Rule Book in force at the time
- Eligibility for legal services in respect of personal injury claims is immediate upon joining the union; for all other legal services, 4 weeks’ full paying membership is required
- Laifa legal assistance is granted at the sole discretion of the Executive Council of the union and can be withdrawn or varied at any time.
